Engagement Session at the Neon Museum
A location as unique as the couple
What a fun photoshoot this was! All of the neon signs were decommissioned and just made for such a cool scene.
While normal admission does not allow photography, The Neon Museum offers a "Portrait Hour" for a small section of the museum which is isolated from the rest of the galleries.
This package cost $50 for non-residents and $35 for residents. We did share the space with four other parties, but we had no trouble at all rotating around and everyone was really courteous.
There are other options for taking photographs at the Neon Museum, but for an engagement shoot, this worked perfectly for us and was very cost effective. You can see other photoshoot options here.
Things to consider for a shoot at the Neon Museum:
Portrait Hour sessions are prescheduled at golden hour (just before sunset)
The session is held only in the North Gallery - All of the signs are not functional and its only two adjacent “hallways”
Each session is limited to 15 people and each person in attendance must have a ticket (one per model, photographer, etc.)
Spots fill up fast - so book as far in advance as you can!
Private Sessions and Sessions at the Main Boneyard (Functional Signs) are available.
The door to the North Gallery is on a track and not exactly wheelchair/disability friendly (they may have accommodations, I recommend reaching out to the Museum before booking)
There are large columns and benches in the center of one of the sections, but it didn’t affect our shoot too much.
Overall, it was a great and easy experience and I highly recommend the Neon Museum if you’re looking for a cool, unique, semi-private spot for photos in Las Vegas, Nevada that isn’t the strip or the desert!
